The awards are presented annually by the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and recognise outstanding employers who demonstrate a commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community. The awards are divided into three categories: Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Gold, Silver, and Bronze. The ERS Gold award is the highest honour, signifying a truly exceptional commitment to the Armed Forces community.
